STILL LIFE – REINVENTED

One of Heart & Cherry’s sub-projects, Limited Editions, produces limited edition serigraphs in collaboration with the most outstanding artists of contemporary Hungarian art.Each year the project collaborates with a different emerging artist (2020 – Zsófi Barabás, Zsuzsa Moizer, Márton Nemes 2021 – József Csató 2022 – Márk Fridvalszki, Ádám Dallos, Júlia Néma, Péter Puklus 2023 – Zsófi Barabás, Botond Keresztesi 2024 – István Dukai) aims at restoring the prestige of serigraphy, which was so popular in the fine arts in the 60s and 70s, and bringing the genre closer to the public when it has launched in 2020.

This year, a special art edition was made with two well-known and acclaimed young artists: József

Csató and Ádám Dóra used the traditional graphic techniques of serigraphy in their their well-known, characteristic visual world of their paintings.

József Csató’s 14-colour silkscreen print and Ádám Dóra’s 7-colour lithographs, with their rich palette of colours and motifs, are an addition to the classical theme of still life.
Both Csató and Dóra use a deliberate arrangement of motifs to advertise the beauty of everyday objects such as food, flowers, fruit, household utensils, furniture and clothes, elevating them to the status of works of art. Each carefully selected object depicted becomes a silent narrator in the painting, weaving a story that connects deeper layers of meaning to the artwork.
